Tomorrow’s 3gb patch will add new cosmetic items, increase the possible cosmetics in Heka’s Chests, and lays the groundwork for the first major piece of DLC arriving later this month. The patch will also include a number of updates to the base game including a new quest, bug fixes, and an update to the Hippodrome difficulty.
The biggest part of tomorrow’s patch is the new Atlas functionality on the world map. The Sinai and the Valley of King’s regions will now appear expanding the already extensive territory of Assassin’s Creeds’ Ptolemaic Egyptic. These new areas will be the setting for the anticipated new DLC packs, The Hidden Ones, available later this month, and the Curse of the Pharaohs will be available in March.
The patch will add a new quest “Incoming Threat” as well as adding store items from the Nightmare, First Civilization, Gladiator, and Wacky packs to Heka’s Chests. Players will also now be able to sell-back outfits to the Weaver shops and toggle the visibility of inventory items on the Gear menu. An entirely new set of cosmetic items will be added tomorrow as well. The Almighty Pack will be available in the in-game store and as part of the expanded Heka chest loot.
There is also a host of bug fixes for quests, the arena, and general gameplay. You can read the full list in the original patch notes. One particularly interesting change is an update to the Hippodrome aimed at making races easier. The hippodrome’s difficulty has not stopped many players from victory, but has been discouraging for some.
Many of the important updates are in preperation of The Hidden Ones DLC. Set years after the events of the main game, players will find Bayek and the Assassins clashing with the Romans, who occupy an all-new region in the game. Ubisoft is also raising the level cap from 40 to 45.
The Hidden Ones DLC still has no official release date. These notes only mention updates to “support” the DLC and extended map area so do not expect to be playing the new content tomorrow. You won’t have to wait too long however, there are only two remaining Tuesdays left in January after tomorrow so we will see it next week or January 30th.
We do already have an updated achievement list for the game in anticipation of the new content. There are eight new acheivements for an additional 210 gamerscore.
The DLC is included with the season pass but will be available for sale for an as yet undisclosed price.
Ubisoft has a lot planned for Assassin’s Creed in January. They have already held the first of two Trial of the Gods events, the second of which will feature Sobek and begins next week on January 23rd. As well as more cosmetic items which will be available January 30th.
