DOOM Open Beta details confirmed

It has been confirmed today that the DOOM Open Beta will take place from April 15th to 18th. Being an Open Beta, no code will be required by Xbox One gamers to get involved – simply sign in to your console on the 15th and download the beta.

The DOOM Open Beta will give you access to Team Deathmatch and Warpath modes on the two maps – Heatwave, and Infernal. These maps will show you just a fraction of what we can all experience come it’s full release next month on May 13th.

Beyond the Open Beta and the game’s full release, support for the title through free content updates across SnapMap and multiplayer. All good things!

For those who don’t already know, SnapMap is an innovative new component of DOOM which will enable gamers to create, share and play their very own game experiences quickly and easily. The free updates coming to SnapMap during the first year will include map modules, props and various objects for us all to include in our own DOOM game creations. The free content updates for multiplayer will consist of various new game modes being introduced.

Confirmed: Three DLC coming to DOOM

Extending the game will not stop at the free content updates, as three different and unique DLC packs have been confirmed too which will give you a number of new maps, hack modules, playable demons, weapons and more. The first DLC will be available this summer and will include:

  • Three new maps
  • One new weapon
  • One new playable demon
  • One new armour set
  • One new piece of equipment
  • New hack modules and taunts
  • New customization colours and patterns

Each of the currently announced DLC will be priced at $14.99 / £11.99 / €14.99, or you can get them all at a discount with the Season Pass for $39.99 / £29.99 / €39.99. DOOM is available to pre-order right now!
