A resurgence of one of Xbox 360’s most renowned franchises: Gears of War 4 promises a well needed change up with a young new generation of muscular protagonists whilst still retaining the industry changing 3rd person cover shooting.

Developer(s): Yuke’s and Visual Concepts

Release Date: 11th October 2016

There’s only one group of guys in gaming who can bench more than the Gears crew. Just like any well established sports game WWE is making its annual arrival to Xbox One next week, bringing with it some well needed tweaks to pacing and reversals along with the usual graphical upgrade.

If you are looking for a co-op game in October then maybe it’s time to rediscover the theatre of the wrestling ring with WWE2K17.

Other noteworthy releases include:

  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Edition from Konami (11th October in US; 13th October in UK), which bundles together MGSV: Ground Zeros with the critically acclaimed MGSV: The Phantom Pain along with all the DLC for both games and Metal Gear Solid Online.
  • Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary Edition from Gearbox Software (11th October) is coming to Xbox One and boasts a brand new episode made by the original creators of Duke Nukem 3D.
  • Mantis Burn Racing; a self-published game from VooDoo Studios (12th October) is a crazy looking top down racer reminiscent of the classic R.C Grand Prix titles. Play 4 player local split-screen or cruise through an alleged 20 hour campaign.
  • Solitaire from Big Ben Interactive (11th October US) is expanding onto the Xbox One. The addictive single player card game may be around when us humans go extinct – bit of speculation there.
  • Blood Ties DLC – Rise of the Tomb Raider (11th October) is basically the officially made zombies mod of Rise of the Tomb Raider. If a game hasn’t got zombies then can it strictly be called a game? In Blood Ties DLC Lara explores Croft Manor in a narrative based around her contentious ownership of the house. As well as fighting for the house, Lara is also forced to confront her ‘inner demons’ in a Nightmare Mode where her home is infested with zombies.
