The producer behind Gears of War 4, Rod Ferguson, has claimed that the upcoming title will stand as a “graphical showcase” of exactly what the Xbox One console is capable of.
The Coalition head said, in a recent interview with Official Xbox Magazine, “Delivering [with Ultimate Edition] the first 60fps multiplayer experience in franchise history really taught us a lot about what it means to have a 60fps culture on the team and we’re leveraging that experience for Gears of War 4.” He went on to point out that 60fps was also possible with Halo 5 Guardians.
“Like how the original Gears of War was a visual showcase for the Xbox 360, Gears of War 4 will be a graphical showcase for the Xbox One,” he added.
There is no set release date for Gears of War 4 at this stage, but it’s expected some time in Quarter 3 this year. It has also been confirmed that prior to launch, a beta will be held with those who pre-ordered Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (that’ll be me!) having guaranteed access.
