Microsoft and Major Nelson comment on Red Dead Redemption removal

Red Dead Redemption, and a number of other titles have recently been in testing ahead of an Xbox One Backward Compatibility release. Some, earlier this week, were “accidentally” made available to the public – these titles have now been removed.

Microsoft released a statement on the matter, saying:

“Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles. Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available. We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon.”

Major Nelson then followed up by responding to a comment on Reddit, stating:

We would love to bring as many Xbox 360 games to Xbox One as we can.”

At least we now know for sure that Red Dead Redemption is definitely coming to Xbox One via Backward Compatibility, and sooner rather than later!
